About the show

SIAL Shanghai is the Chinese edition of a food and beverage exhibition brand founded in Paris in 1964 and brought to China in 2000, and it is counted among the three largest food fairs in the world. It acts as a full-chain trade platform and a marker of where food and drink innovation is heading, and as the entry point for brands into the Chinese market as much as the place where Chinese buyers meet international suppliers. Its remit runs across the whole chain, from imported and regional specialities through ingredients, processing and packaging to the logistics and digital systems that move food to market.

SIAL World Food Industry Summit
The summit sets themed forums around meat, catering, drinks, food technology, imported food, health food, retail and supply chains. It has so far drawn more than 400 economists, industry experts and company leaders as speakers and more than 12,000 food and drink professionals on site.
SIAL Innovation
Run with the innovation consultancy XTC, the competition convenes an independent jury of experts, academics, media and consultancies each year to judge entries against consumer habits and market trends in different countries, and picks the year’s most innovative foods and drinks. Entry is free to exhibitors at the current edition.
Match Me
A matchmaking service that pairs exhibitors with buyers before the show: the Match Me team records product details and purchasing requirements in one-to-one interviews, then arranges meetings in the business matching area, the key-buyer lounge, sourcing salons and buyer delegations during the fair.
