About the show

CID&CNF, CHINA DIECASTING & CHINA NONFERROUS, is Asia’s leading trade fair for the diecasting and nonferrous casting industry, held in Shanghai. It brings the whole production chain under one roof — raw and auxiliary materials, melting, casting, automation and peripherals, moulds, post-processing and CNC finishing, inspection and environmental technology — and sets the finished castings beside the buyers who use them.

Materials, processes and applications make up the show. Automotive and aerospace light-weighting keeps pushing precision forming of light alloys to the centre of product design: aluminium diecasting is spreading from body structural parts into battery housings, while magnesium alloys — lighter still, but constrained by corrosion and creep performance — are moving into volume applications. Smart manufacturing, low-carbon production and mould innovation run through the fair.

Reference

Related events
The Shanghai show is listed in the organisers’ global exhibitions calendar alongside other diecasting and foundry events, among them the World Foundry Congress, the J-DEC Japan Die Casting Congress and Exhibition in Yokohama, the Asia-Pacific Metal Tech Congress and China Foundry Congress in Shenzhen, the China Die Casting Congress, and the SEA Die Casting Congress and Exhibition in Thailand.
Concurrent programme
A technical programme runs alongside the exhibition floor and follows the questions driving the sector: the international diecasting market, magnesium alloys, squeeze casting, new-energy vehicles and body light-weighting, large one-piece diecasting, post-processing and CNC finishing, and the digitalisation of diecasting technology. Two long-running industry programmes sit alongside it — an annual award for innovative diecasting technology and products, and the Casting Carnival, which grew out of the industry’s quality-casting competition and gathers the best castings and the companies that make them in one display.
Visitor profile
Buyers come from the automotive and two-wheeler industries, aerospace, shipbuilding, the low-altitude economy and humanoid robotics, energy storage, communications, electronics and electrical appliances, medical devices, power tools, lighting, sanitary and architectural hardware, toys and jewellery, and metalworking.
