China Feed Industry Expo covers the whole chain of feed manufacturing, from the raw materials and additives that make up a ration to the machinery that mixes, pellets and bags it. Additives are broken out by function: vitamins, amino acids and enzymes; polysaccharides, oligosaccharides, plant extracts and microbial preparations; minerals and their chelates; and the colorants, flavorings, attractants, antioxidants, preservatives, mold inhibitors, acidity regulators, binders, anticaking agents, stabilizers and emulsifiers that hold a formulation together. Veterinary drugs and animal health products sit alongside them.

The rest of the floor is organized around who is buying: large feed groups and provincial pavilions, livestock and aquatic feed producers, forage and feed processors, feed mill equipment and quality-testing systems, and a services row of trade press, information technology, investment and recruitment. The show also works as a technical forum — feed-saving and efficiency targets, low-protein ration technology, and the quality and safety rules governing additives and labeling are all on the program, which is why technical and regulatory staff travel with the commercial teams.
