About the show
IME XINJIANG, China Xinjiang International Mining Expo, covers the mining industry from exploration to processing, together with the equipment that goes with it. Held in Urumqi, it is one of China’s main platforms for mining development and international production capacity cooperation, and its programme works on two fronts at once: the search for strategic mineral resources and the conversion of Xinjiang’s mineral wealth into industrial value, alongside the construction of smart mines with higher safety standards.
Natural-resource and mining institutions from around 25 Chinese provinces and regions take part, and the expo draws mining administrations and companies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Its scope follows the chain from geological exploration and mineral analysis through mining and ore-dressing equipment to green-mine construction, new-energy mining equipment, mine safety and rescue, and tailings and waste treatment. The Silk Road Mining Cooperation Forum is held with the expo.
